Ampersand Claybord Panels are an excellent surface alternative for inks, gouache, egg tempera, acrylics, airbrushing, encaustics, collage, photo transfers, pencil, and casein!  

These panels feature ultra-smooth kaolin clay ground with velvet-smooth finish that is very absorbent. The kaolin clay ground gives you a unique scratchboard advantage: you can thinly apply paint or ink then remove them, reapply or scratch through them to add contrast and texture to your work.  

You can frame the cradled panels just like you would frame a standard stretched canvas or hang the panels directly for a frameless presentation. 

Part of Ampersand's Museum Series featuring Archiva-Seal technology, an advanced formula for sealing wood that ensures your artwork created on an Ampersand wood panel will remain acid free and non-yellowing over time.  

Ampersand is committed to producing products that don't harm the environment or the artists who use them. All Museum Series Panels are made using forest products that are FSC certified. Ampersand's Museum Series boards are formaldehyde-free and VOC free.

Ampersand Floaterframes - Left Angle of Bold Face Black, White, Maple and Walnut frames

A do-it-yourself frame specifically designed for use with wood panels, Ampersand Floaterframes are great for stretched canvases and flat panels as well! Every detail of the Floaterframe has been designed and engineered to deliver a simple, all-in-one framing solution that protects your artwork while giving it the finished look it deserves. 

Made with premium hardwood, the Ampersand Floaterframe features precisely constructed reinforced corners, a wider drill base, and pre-drilled countersunk mounting holes. All mounting and hanging hardware is provided to quickly and easily attach your artwork to the frame, including mounting screws, screw eyes, a hanger, picture wire, and bumper pads. 

The Ampersand Floaterframe is available in two elegant styles — a thin 1/4" face and a bold 3/8" face. Both styles are available in 7/8" and 1-1/2" depths to accommodate 7/8" and 1-1/2" profile artwork. The 7/8" deep frames also fit 3/4" stretched canvas and flat panels with the included riser system.

Made from premium hardwood, these professional-quality frames have a wider base that eliminates damage to the panel cradle. A higher profile and deeper rabbet protect panel corners, too. The Ampersand Floaterframe includes hanging hardware.
