I teach at a local college and needed a clay that sculpture students could work with that didn't need to be kiln fired. I discovered this product after doing some searches, and tried it out to see what it would be like. It has a wonderful plastic quality that truly stays workable if you have a water mister on hand. I was able to fix a crack by adding a bit of fresh claystone. I textured and burnished the piece I was working on, and am waiting for it to dry completely. So far, there is minimal shrinkage and as the clay dries, texture can be added. I know that this product will work for my students as an excellent and affordable alternative to real clay.

Here's the scoop... I needed the clay to put on fabricated figurines that were made out of stick figure wood, wrapped in chicken wire ( for shape) and then wrapped in crepe paper. They are about 2 feet high and varying in width. So I get the clay and start rolling it our and applying it loosely to the figures. I go over it trying to smooth out the uneveness and shaping as I go. It dries and it cracks all over the place and I mean big cracks. So when that gets somewhat I dry, I fill in the cracks, only to have more cracks on the the new clay appear.I was very frustrated with this. But on another note.. I like how easy it is to work with. It rolls nice and shapes up easy.
