Etching Ink designed to be a strong reliable ink for edition printing that works well for all intaglio techniques

Gamblin created its Etching Ink line for professional printmakers in the Pacific Northwest that were looking for strong reliable inks for their edition printing needs. Gamblin makes these high quality printmaking inks with the same respect and care for traditional materials that has made the company''s Artist''s paint colors the choice for many of America''s finest oil painters. These highly pigmented, professional quality inks are made with pure intense pigments that are bound with the highest quality Burnt Plate Oil with no added ingredients that would degrade their longevity.

The 5 different black inks and Graphite ink are formulated to give printmakers deep rich black inks with good working characteristics. The Portland Black and Portland Cool Black colors are ideal for edition printing as they both give you a strong line and medium plate tone. Engravers, printers of mezzotints and others who want more resistance in their ink should try the Portland Stiff Black color.

  • Palette of 6 different blacks and 11 colors gives you a wide range of color mixing potential.
  • High tack works well in all intaglio techniques: etching, drypoint, aquatint, mezzotint, engraving
  • Lightfast pigments bound in Burnt Plate Oil
