    As reviewed by Bernard Heller

This pencil is intended generally for use by artists, but I use the pencil to make various kinds of calculations and notes. I need a pencil that will leave a dark impression when used; that helps me to see more easily what I have written. I learned of the existence of this pencil from a friend who makes use of it for some the same reasons that I enjoy it. So, apparently the #8 B pencil is the softest lead that is available in a wooden pencil, or at least that is what I have been led to believe. The wooden encasement makes this pencil easy to sharpen when that is needed. I also make use of a variety of mechanical pencils. Nevertheless, the #8 B is a welcome addition to my pencil collection.
