Our artist acrylic paints have a buttery texture and can be applied straight out of the tube or thinned with water or acrylic mediums. We use the same high-quality pigments that are found in our artist oil paints combined with the purest acrylic polymer vehicle, ensuring excellent tint strength.

More About the Series Designation on Utrecht Artists' Acrylic Paints

Our acrylic paint descriptions online and in our catalog will include a reference to a Series 1 through 4.  Although the pricing differs by series, the series designation within a Utrecht line does not indicate the quality level of the paint. To the contrary, each series of Utrecht Artists' acrylic paint is manufactured to meet the same high quality standards that  meet the needs of professional artists worldwide.  

Therefore, the fact that our Series 1 acrylic paints are less expensive than Series 4 does not mean that Series 1 is lower quality than Series 4.   Instead, the series designation and subsequent pricing structure are more a function of the cost it takes to produce those acrylic colors so that the quality level is comparable across the entire line. That cost could be driven by the high quality raw materials, the milling process or a combination therein that Utrecht uses to produce these fine artists' grade acrylic paints.
