For 60 years Utrecht has started with the purest raw pigments and oil, each certified to meet strict quality standards, and carefully crafted some of the finest professional artist oil paints available today.  We use the highest possible pigment concentration, don't add fillers and then skillfully mill each oil paint to feature brilliant colors, a buttery texture, outstanding lightfastness and long-term performance.   Most of these oil colors are single pigment and the line features very few hue mixtures.

Don't be fooled by the affordability of Utrecht Artists' oil paints.  These oil paints are comparable to brands costing significantly more.

Utrecht Artists' oil paints feature over 40 single pigment paints which offer the best results for oil painting.  Single pigment oil paints mix truer and more predictably as well as provide the maximum chromatic intensity possible for that pigment. 

Series Designation

Our oil paint descriptions online and in our catalog will include a reference to a Series 1 through 5.  Within a line, the series designation does not indicate the quality level of the paint.  For example, because Series 1 is less expensive than Series 5 that does not mean that Series 1 is lower quality than Series 5.  In fact, each series of Utrecht Artists' oil paints is manufactured to meet the same high quality standards that  meet the needs of professional artists.   The series designation and subsequent pricing structure are more a function of production costs, whether that is raw materials or milling process.
