Utrecht offers you some of the most competitive online shipping rates in the fine art supplies industry. See below for our standard, non-expedited ground shipping rates.

Free Ground Shipping Over $175*

Free Ground Shipping is valid for online orders with a product total, after discounts and before taxes are applied, of $175 or more that are shipping within the 48 contiguous states. Some exclusions apply.

Ground Shipping Terms and Restrictions

* All ground shipping offers, whether flat rate, free or our standard non-expedited ground shipping rates' free shipping purchase threshold, do not apply to:

• Oversize/overweight items - these require special handling and incur an additional handling charge. On our site, they are denoted 'Oversize Item' in the item's description. The additional handling charge is listed in the item's description and is added to your estimated shipping total in your shopping cart.
• 'Truck Ship' items - these have to be shipped by special carrier instead of our normal ground shipping methods and are denoted on our site as 'Truck Ship'. These items require custom freight quotes based on your shipping destination. You can estimate those charges by entering the zip code of that destination in the Shipping Calculator in the shopping cart.
• 'Drop Ship' items - these ship directly to you from our factories or from our vendors' factories and are denoted on our site as 'Drop Ship'. The separate shipping charge for these items is listed in the item's description and is added to your estimated shipping total in your shopping cart.
• Orders over 100 lbs - Orders with an aggregate weight that exceeds 100 lbs are not eligible for any type of free ground shipping. These orders incur weight-related surcharges that vary based on the weight and destination.
• Orders shipping to locations outside the 48 contiguous United States.

Additional shipping and handling charges, over and above our Standard Non-Expedited Ground Shipping Rates apply to all orders containing:

• Drop Ship items
• Truck Ship items
• Oversize items
• Overweight items
• items whose aggregate weight exceeds 100 lbs.

Any order that exceeds 300 lbs. ships via truck. Customer service contacts you regarding the applicable charges.

Ground Shipping / Free Ground Shipping Calculation

All ground shipping calculations, including eligibility for free ground shipping, are based on your order's eligible merchandise* total after any promotional discounts are applied and before any sales tax is applied.

For example, your cart contains $175 worth of eligible merchandise, you live in a state where the sales tax is 7% and you apply a $10 discount to the cart. The ground shipping calculation is based on $175 - $10 = $165 while your cart totals $176.55 with the tax. In this case, if the free ground shipping threshold is $175, you would be charged for ground shipping because the net cart total before taxes of $165 does not meet the $175 threshold.

* The value of any pre-filled ArtSmart cards purchased with product merchandise is not used in calculating regular ground shipping charges because regular ground shipping of any ArtSmart card purchase is free.

Eligibility for Free Ground Shipping Offers

Standard Non-Expedited Ground Shipping

On orders using our standard non-expedited ground shipping rates, eligibility for free ground shipping is determined by comparing your entire cart's merchandise total, after discounts before taxes and regardless of the type of merchandise items in your cart, to the free ground shipping threshold. Therefore, items that ship via another carrier, such as drop ship or truck ship items, contribute to your receiving free freight on in-stock items in your cart. For example, your cart contains a Drop Ship easel for $150 that has a drop ship fee of $20 and $50 of regular in-stock merchandise and there is no discount being applied. If the free ground shipping threshold is $175, in this case you would receive free ground shipping on the $50 of in-stock merchandise because your $200 cart total exceeds the free ground shipping purchase threshold. Your only shipping charge would be the easel's $20 additional drop ship fee.

Orders using a promotion code that includes a ground shipping offer, flat rate or free, must meet the promotion's minimum purchase requirement, if one exists. Therefore, you may get an error message when your cart apparently exceeds the purchase threshold and/or the applicable free shipping threshold. Typically that error is caused by some of the eligible items for free or flat rate shipping in your cart being excluded from the minimum purchase component of the promotion.

For example, a promotion with a minimum purchase requirement as well as a shipping offer may exclude Best Buys, clearance or items on sale among others. Therefore, carts containing only those types of excluded items would not be eligible for the promotion. Similarly, carts containing a mix of eligible and excluded items whose eligible item total is less than the required minimum purchase would also not be eligible for the promotion. For example, your offer has a $100 purchase requirement with free shipping at $100. Your cart contains a mix of eligible and excluded items and totals $100. Your promotion code would not work because your eligible item total is below the required $100. Therefore the shipping offer would not be applied even though your cart total met the free shipping requirement. In this example, the free shipping offer would be applied once the eligible item total in your cart exceeds the $100 minimum purchase requirement.

Please note that once your cart's eligible item total meets a minimum purchase requirement, the subsequent shipping calculation uses your entire merchandise total, not just the eligible items. For example, your offer has a $100 purchase requirement with free freight at $150. Your cart totals $175 and the eligible item total is $110. You met the purchase requirement with your eligible item total of $110 and exceeded the free freight requirement with your cart total of $175. You would get free ground shipping, assuming your order complies with our ground shipping exceptions and restrictions.

Additional Shipping and Handling Calculation

All orders containing Drop Ship, Truck Ship, oversize, overweight, flammable or whose aggregate weight exceeds 100 lbs. are subject to additional shipping and handling fees that are over and above our Standard Non-Expedited Ground Shipping Rates.

Except for weight-related surcharges, the shopping cart determines if you have any items requiring additional shipping and handling fees and applies those fees to your shipping charges. When your cart includes items that require additional shipping or handling fees, it is possible for you to have an order incurring shipping charges even though your order total, as defined above, exceeds the applicable free ground shipping purchase requirement.

Orders with Aggregate Weight Exceeding 100 lbs Incur Surcharges

If your order exceeds the 100 lb. limit, Customer Service will contact you within a business day of receiving your order to provide you with an actual quote for your total shipping charges that includes the weight-related surcharges. As noted in our ground shipping terms, these orders are not eligible for free ground shipping.

Orders from 100 to 300 lbs are assessed an overage charge above our standard ground shipping rates. The overage charges vary based on an individual order's parameters so the shopping cart's shipping calculator can not and does not provide an accurate estimate for those charges. Your actual shipping charges will exceed the amount shown in the cart.

Orders above 300 lbs. ship via special carrier, just like 'Truck Ship' items, and incur a separate freight charge. The checkout process and the shipping calculator in the shopping cart provide freight charge estimates, based on zip code, for orders that meet the special carrier threshold. Oversized or Overweight Items

Some of the items we offer are too large or too heavy for delivery by parcel carrier. These items are typically shipped by truck and additional shipping charges may apply. A physical address and phone number are required for delivery of these items. Each oversized item is marked online accordingly in the individual item description page. Please Note: free ground shipping terms, both standard and promotions, do not apply towards orders with oversized or overweight items.

Truck Ship Items

Truck ship items are items that ship from our warehouse that cannot be delivered by parcel carrier and are instead shipped by a special freight carrier. These items are marked accordingly in the item description. Freight shipping rates vary based on destination so your freight charge will be calculated for you during the checkout process. All rates quoted are for delivery to a dock or curbside only. Lift gate and inside delivery will incur additional fees - please contact Customer Service for a quote. Please be prepared to provide the item number and the delivery address.

Please Note: free ground shipping terms, both standard and promotions, do not apply towards orders with truck ship items.

Flammable Items

items marked Flammable Item contain flammable or hazardous materials and therefore are subject to some shipping restrictions. Flammable Items can not be shipped:

• Via Air Carrier - orders containing such items can not use expedited shipping options (the web site will recognize the items in your cart and does not present any expedited shipping options during checkout)
• To locations outside the contiguous 48 states: Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Canada and all other international locations.
• To APO/FPO addresses

Orders Exceeding 300 lbs

all orders that ship from our warehouse, regardless of whether they include an item marked 'Truck Ship', that have an aggregate weight of 300 lbs or more can not be shipped by our regular ground shipping parcel carrier. Frequently this occurs when you are ordering multiple units or cartons of a heavy item. These orders have to ship by a special freight carrier and therefore incur a freight charge. The freight charge applies even if the order does not contain 'Truck Ship' items or even if the order amount qualifies for free regular ground shipping.

For these orders, the online checkout process will add an estimate of these charges to your order. Customer Service then contacts you with the actual applicable charges. You can determine if your order exceeds this weight threshold before beginning the checkout process by entering your shipping destination's zip code in the Shipping Calculator in your cart and clicking the Submit button. If your order is over the weight limit, you will see a Truck Shipping amount show up in the Shipping Calculator.

Note: Expedited shipping is not available for any order that ships via freight.

Drop Ship/Manufacturer Direct Items

Drop ship items are shipped directly to your destination from the source, whether that it is one of our factories or a vendor's factory or warehouse. Additional shipping charges apply and will be applied in the checkout process. Drop shipments typically take 2 weeks for delivery. Exceptions will be noted in the product description.

Shipping charges for Drop Ship items are for curb or dock delivery only. Please Note: free regular ground shipping terms, both standard and promotions, do not apply towards Drop Ship items. All orders with Drop Ship items will incur a shipping charge. If your order contains merchandise that ships from our warehouse AND Drop Ship items, you may qualify for free regular ground shipping of the items that ship from our warehouse but will still pay shipping on the Drop Ship items.

Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-223-9132, if you have any questions regarding a drop ship item. Canceling of a drop ship item once the order is received, will be assessed a restocking fee and shipping charges will not be refunded.

Changing or Returning Drop Ship Orders
Please contact our Customer Service Department if you prefer to process any changes or return a drop ship item. Our Customer Service Department would be happy to contact the vendor to notify them of the return and provide a return authorization number. Returns due to customer ordering error are the responsibility of the customer to return directly to the vendor with the return authorization number. The shipping charges will not be refunded or reimbursed. A restocking fee will apply.

** NOTE: Drop rates noted on our website are based on shipping within the 48 contiguous US only. A customer service representative will contact you to provide a freight quote for shipping outside of the 48 contiguous states.

Drop Ship Items that Ship By Freight

A small number of products ship from the source, i.e. they are 'Drop Ship' items, and have to ship by freight instead of a parcel carrier. This is usually due to the size or weight of the item. Those items are marked online as both 'Drop Ship' and 'Truck Ship' items.

Like a regular 'Drop Ship' item, an additional shipping charge applies. Unlike a regular Drop Ship item, the amount of that charge varies per customer. Like the 'Truck Ship' items that ship from our warehouse, the freight charge is based on the shipping destination. Customer Service will contact you with your actual charges. In the shopping cart, an ESTIMATED freight charge for these items will be added to your shipping charge. This amount is based on typical freight shipments in our industry and is ONLY AN ESTIMATE intended to provide you with some idea of what your freight charges will be.

Orders containing only ArtSmart cards, regardless of whether they are from our line of pre-filled gift cards or cards where you specified the amount loaded onto the card, ship for free via our FedEx 3 Day Express Service.

Shipping days are business days. These expedited charges only apply to orders containing just ArtSmart Cards.

Orders with Pre-filled ArtSmart Cards AND Merchandise

Our line of pre-filled gift cards was created so that you can buy them via our regular merchandise shopping cart together with merchandise or just by themselves.

Pre-filled ArtSmart cards ordered with other merchandise ship with that merchandise. Although the card ships with your merchandise, we do not use the card's value in calculating the regular ground shipping charges for the merchandise portion of your order, thereby not increasing those charges.

Expedited Shipping Options for Orders with Pre-filled ArtSmart Cards AND Merchandise

These orders can use any of our regular expedited shipping options. The expedited charges shown in the cart are for the entire order.

Same Day Shipping of ArtSmart Card Orders.
All orders containing ArtSmart Cards can ship the same day if needed. Some restrictions apply.

Same Day Shipping Available

Same day shipping is available Monday through Friday. The requirements for same day shipping are:

1. Your order must be placed by noon EST
2. You must use an expedited shipping method

Expedited Shipping

We offer a variety of expedited shipping choices for your convenience.

Shipping days are counted as working business days. We do not ship on Saturday, Sunday or holidays.

Expedited Orders Ship Same Day *

* Expedited orders received on normal business days (Monday-Friday) by 12 noon EST (Eastern Standard Time), excluding holidays and any other unanticipated closures, will ship the same day as long as the merchandise is in-stock. Overnight or Next Day orders placed on Friday by 12 noon EST will be delivered the next business day, excluding holidays and any unanticipated closures.

For same day shipping, orders must be received by 12 noon EST and must use an expedited shipping method.

Expedited Service Restrictions

Expedited Service does not apply to oversized, overweight, hazardous or flammable materials, drop ship items or deliveries to APO/FPO addresses outside the 48 contiguous states. Backorders are shipped standard ground for free. Call 800-223-9132 if you have any questions about your delivery.

Please note that Drop Ship and Truck Ship items are not eligible for expedited shipping.

Expedited Shipping Rate Calculations

For orders using our regular shopping cart, the expedited shipping rates are calculated in real time in the cart. To determine your rate please use the shipping calculator in the cart or proceed through the normal check out process. Shipping Back Ordered Items

All Back Ordered items are shipped ground delivery as soon as they are received in our warehouse. Backordered items totaling less than $10.00 are automatically cancelled when the order is processed except for class list orders.

Alaska, Hawaii, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico Orders

Utrecht offers delivery by United States Postal Service (USPS). Free shipping offers do not apply to orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. USPS shipments cannot exceed 70 lbs. per package. We can not ship flammable items or expedite USPS shipments.

Orders containing boxes measuring 18 x 24 or larger will be charged an oversize shipping charge, plus any applicable shipping charges associated with the remaining items. Customer Service will contact you to authorize those charges in advance of shipment.

Canadian Orders

We can only ship items labeled with a "NAFTA" designation to Canada. If your order contains items that are not part of the NAFTA agreement we will contact you by email. Eligible shipments will be delivered by FedEx. Flammable items cannot be shipped to Canada. Additional taxes and duties may apply. Delays are common when shipping to Canada due to customs and duty review.

International shipments

Utrecht ships via FedEx International to most destinations around the world. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-223-9132 or 1-609-409-8001 to place your order. Upon receiving your order, Utrecht’s Customer Service department will contact you by email to inform you of the shipping and handling fees. Any additional taxes, duties, and customs fees charged for International delivery are not the responsibility of Utrecht. These cannot be established before shipping. We are unable to remove pricing from documents as the correct value must be shown.

Backordered items may incur an additional shipping charge. Utrecht does not accept International credit cards. Free shipping promotions do not apply to international shipments. Hazardous and flammable items can not ship via FedEx International. A phone number is required for delivery.

FPO/APO Shipments

Utrecht ships via USPS to an APO/FPO. Please contact our Customer Service Department for a freight quote. Utrecht does not offer free shipping and expedited shipping options to an APO/FPO. Backordered items may incur an additional shipping charge. We can not ship flammable items to an APO/FPO.
