Utrecht takes several precautions to ensure that the personal information you provide when placing an order or registering on our site is safe and secure. Encryption technology secures the transmission of sensitive information, such as your name and credit card number, to prevent its interception as it passes through the Internet.

Encryption is active only on pages where you are asked to enter personally identifiable information. You can tell if encryption is active on the page by looking at the address bar of your browser. If you see "https://" instead of "http://" you are on a secure page. Some web browsers display padlock-like icons on secure pages as well.

Utrecht uses two security services, GeoTrust and ControlScan. You can click on those companies logos at the bottom of the left hand column to view the most recent information. ControlScan conducts ongoing scans of the site looking for security vunerabilities while GeoTrust is a company that provides encryption technology as well as the True Site Seal, which signifies that the site bearing this seal is secure.
