Jeff Olson

Painting for me is at a fundamental level about transformation.

I am fascinated by the leap of faith made by an individual or collective imagination to conceive of the possibilities that lie within any material, image, or object. Where meaning and form can be translated in the minds eye far beyond the intrinsic make up of that which is seen.

In my work I try to capture that precise moment of becoming, when the paint on the canvas floats between what it is and what it might be.

To create these images, I work very quickly with the material. The spontaneity is essential to create the type of energy I am looking for in the marks and the image.

Jeff is currently the Western Regional Manager for Utrecht Art Supplies.

Paul F. Davis

Paul F. Davis was born and raised in Oklahoma where he became interested in painting during his high school years.  He went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts Degree a Southwestern Oklahoma State University.  While visiting a friend in New Mexico, he fell in love with the southwest and decided to move there and stayed for some ten years.  He later moved to Phoenix to do some advanced studies at Arizona State University in Tempe.

His work can be found in many private and corporate collections and he has been honored at many juried shows.

Paul on his experience with Utrecht Paints…

"In 1993, I took a class at The Scottsdale Art School and the instructor introduced me to Utrecht oil paints.  I have been using them every since.  I love color and I know that I can trust Utrecht paints to be consistent in hue, chroma, and tint.  Mixed with the Utrecht Gel Medium, the paint comes to life, with textures, brushes strokes and transparencies.”
