Part time Keyholder/Assistant Manager |

Responsibilities:
|
| A Key Holder is an hourly associate who has been given the additional responsibility of opening and/or closing the store (or an associated satellite location). This associate has mastered all daily associate responsibilities. With the keys to the store come an alarm code, the safe combination, an elevated cash register authorization code, and the responsibility of leading the staff and representing the company in the absence of senior managers.
Primary Responsibilities:.
1. To be totally familiar with the opening and closing procedures, and the daily operational procedures of the store.
2. To present to the guests a positive, attentive, knowledgeable, and professional manner.
3. To operate the store in a professional and fiscally responsible manner during those periods when there is no senior management in the building.
4. To insure that any action plans left by senior store management are properly executed.
5. To communicate with the store’s senior management and the central organization as necessary in transacting the company’s business.
Secondary Responsibilities:.
1. To monitor and participate in the daily guest service, recovery, cleanup, stock fill-ins, and receiving activities in the store.
2. To run and supervise the operation of cash registers, and back office procedures.
3. To exhibit and maintain an above average product knowledge.

1. To control register shortages, the safe count, and any other issues of fiscal responsibility on your shift.
2. To help in control of paper shrink and theft on your shift.

Utrecht Art Supply Company, a nationwide retailer with 60 years experience in retail, mailorder and manufacturing of fine art supplies, seeks an experienced BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST to work in the Washington DC/Baltimore area.
The Business Development Specialist’s job is to drive more business into the stores by developing existing accounts and bringing on board new business opportunities across the market’s trading area. This is a fulltime position with an opportunity for monthly bonuses. We offer health benefits, company paid life insurance, 401K, PTO and generous employee discount.

Primary Responsibilities:
- To make, grow and sustain relationships with chair people and faculty in all the Universities, Colleges and High Schools in the trading area, concentrating on Fine Art, Architectural and Design related curriculums.
- To make Utrecht the “preferred vendor" on every student’s required materials list.
- To become a “resource" to these institutions through reliable troubleshooting, product information, product research and marketing promotions.
- To identify special needs in advance and work with Headquarters to fulfill these needs.
- To get involved with local Art Associations and Student/Artist Leagues.
- To approach the commercial art, architecture, design, drafting and any other related industries within the market to create strong bonds between Utrecht and the commercial end user.
Secondary Responsibilities
- To insure access to students and faculty in order to distribute coupons, samples and other promotional offers thoroughly and effectively during Back to School rushes and to demonstrate consistent flyer distribution throughout the school year.
- To follow up on leads from the store, to explore previously missed schools and to discover new areas of opportunity for Utrecht.
- To examine what the competition is doing and to exploit them for Utrecht’s benefit.
- To offer “hands on" presentations, demonstrations and slide shows to best promote and exploit Utrecht’s own-brand products.
- To personally attend select school presentations and events and to award gifts and vouchers to students of merit in conjunction with their faculty.
- To generally raise Utrecht’s profile in the eyes of our Guests and to imply that to associate with Utrecht is to associate with excellence.

- To create a larger Guest group that shops on a more consistent basis (using the Customer Count as a primary indicator).
- To create a Guest group that makes all, or at least more, of their purchases at Utrecht (using the Average Sale as a primary indicator).

- To gain a larger share of the Guest group through personal marketing (using changes in Sales Volume as a primary indicator).
