Utrecht Standard Stretcher Strip

These 1.5" W x 3/4" H standard stretcher strips are made exclusively from kiln-dried Brazilian White Pine. They are designed so tha the canvas is always one half inch from the strip to eliminate "ghost" impressions. The rounded back edges reduce surface friction and allow for a tighter draw of the fabric and a more even painting surface.

All corners are slotted and double-mortised and all sizes are interchangeable.

Available in single strips or economical carton units.

    I'm mostly a portrait artist. These stretchers are consistently straight, strong and high quality. Even on the standard weight strips the lip holds the canvas well away from the stretcher so you NEVER get a "ghost" in the paint around the perimeter. Utrecht also lets you order by the strip so you can order according to your needs and not have to buy in big lots like with other art supply catalogs. Do yourself a real favor and try some of these. You'll never use anything else again.
