  • My best brush

I am extremely sorry to see that Blick is discontinuing these brushes. I have been using these brushes (especially size 4 and 2) for about 20 years. They were at first made in Germany, then England, now India. The quality is almost as good as it was in 1995, and is certainly far above any comparable brush. I have tried many other synthetic sables, but they always split or fray, usually on the first or second use. These brushes last and last, and they keep a point, almost like a pen. They are a little springier and firmer than other synthetics. I have enjoyed that they were inexpensive and reliable and I could use them with India ink without destroying an expensive sable. In recent years I do get the occasional dud, but they are still my favorite brush. So long, old friend.
