Made from hog's hair, this brush from Academy is generally the best choice for oil and acrylic paint.

This is a strong, durable brush that manipulates heavy paint easily. These brushes have a unique taper that causes the bristles to interlock, which maintains its original shape and helps control the placement of color.

Best for use with:

  • Oil Paint
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Aklyd Paint

    Experience: NOVICE

I paint enough to say Grumbacher Brushes are very well made. I like these brushes allot. I selected Novice as the Level of Expertise because I do not paint professionally. You get a very well made brush for what they cost. I would advise any oil painter to buy at least one of each filbert size. A filbert is the most versatile tip. These brushes are dense and the bristles just the right length to reflect your stokes. Plus turning these brushes allows you to get a great variation of brush strokes. After using these you will avoid the cheaper brushes. Hard to believe, because these are priced nicely. I use the smaller brushes allot so I keep a few extra around incase I wear out a brush before I can get another in. These might last so long I might not need to relay on those spares so much.
