Moleskine

Moleskine Notebooks, Sketchbooks and Planners at Utrecht

Moleskine is the artist notebook, that has been used by European artists and thinkers for hundreds of years. Artists from Van Gogh to Picasso and writers from Ernest Hemingway to Bruce Chatwin have used Moleskine. These trusty Moleskine notebooks hold your sketches, notes, stories and ideas before they can be turned into final works.

Moleskine books were originally produced in France by bookbinders who supplied the stationery shops frequented by fine artists. By the end of the twentieth century the Moleskine notebook was no longer available. In 1986, the last manufacturer of Moleskine, a family operation in Tours, closed its doors forever.

In 1998, a Italian publisher brought the Moleskine book back again. The legendary black artists notebook is once again being used as a sketch book, artists journal, artists notebook and more. The Moleskine line features the Moleskine Plain Sketchbook, the Moleskine City Notebook, the Moleskine Daily Diary, Moleskine Ruled Notebook and more.
