Founded in 1923 by Gianni Maimeri, a noted artist and restorer, Maimeri is the largest paint company in Italy and their flagship line, Artisti, is Italy’s best-selling oil paint.  Artisti oils are produced according to traditional formulas that have been passed down from Gianni Maimeri to his grandson who currently runs the company.  These oils are highly pigmented and they do not contain filler, waxes, or other extenders so they exhibit superior quality and brilliance.  Artisti oil paints contain authentic historical pigments such as zinc white, bitumen, manganese violet, and as well as transparent Italian earth pigments.
