Design: Frank Lloyd Wright
The fame of Wright’s design for the Guggenheim Museum rests on its unconventional rotunda shape and the sloping spiral ramp that curves around the building’s interior. This circular concept enables the continuous and unimpeded viewing of the art works.
This clock, manufactured by Bulova, was adapted from Wright’s drawings for the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. His concept for the building included the use of a decorative circular design motif. This clock’s design is taken from the circular gates and fencing for the museum’s loggia.
